Dear Colleagues,

As most of us know at this time, our dear and eminently distinguished Professor V. C. B. Nwuga has departed our shores to "the great beyond".Our deepest condolences to his wife, children, grandchildren and entire family."He came, he saw and he conquered" will inadequately sum up the multitude of accolades, testimonials and eulogies spoken and written about this great Primogenitor of Physiotherapy in Nigeria.

How about some descriptive phrases that also do not totally capture the essence of

Prof. Nwuga, but here goes;
"Yes,
he was innovative but diligent;
bold but cautious;
intelligent but forever researching;
trail-blazing but cognizant of historical antecedents;
painstaking but prompt and quick;
full of laughter but equally intense;
earnest but methodical; charismatic but enigmatic;
a man of the present but futuristic in thought, outlook and action;
loving and loved".

More than all of the above descriptions, Prof. Nwuga was a husband to his wife, a father and grandfather to his offsprings and above all "a child of God".

Individually and as a profession, we recognize and enthusiastically applaud Prof. Nwuga's intellect, outstanding accomplishments and upliftment of Physiotherapy in Nigeria especially.

Now that Prof. Nwuga is no longer physically with us, we will celebrate his life and legacy by ensuring that the " Nwuga Foundation" set up by the Nigeria Society Of Physiotherapy is robustly funded continuously by all of us and all well wishers outside of the profession of Physiotherapy.

This will ensure that generations yet unborn will know about this great, trail-blazing icon of Physiotherapy, the inspiration he was and will continue to be as the Foundation grows, thrives and innovates in the future.

In conclusion, as I extend condolences on behalf of my family and I, heartfelt thanks go to the Nwuga family for sharing their husband and father with a host of strangers from the Physiotherapy profession who benefitted in innumerable ways through associating with late Professor Vincent Chukuka Babatunde Nwuga. May God comfort, console, protect and keep all of you in his Grace. Amen.
